Thomas F. McDermott

Thomas F. McDermott of 263 Elm Street died today in Providence Hospital after a short illness. He was a retired employee of the Board of Public Works. Born in North Brookfield, he was the son of the late Thomas and Jeanette (Gendron) McDermott and was educated in the Holyoke schools. he was a member of Holyoke Lodge of Elks and the Holyoke Bartenders Union. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Theresa (Cahill) McDermott; four daughters, Miss Vera McDermott, at home, Mrs. Patrick Curran and Mrs. Anthony Deni of this city, and Mrs. Grace Lyons of Revere; five sons, Earl of Melrose, Everett of Washington, D.C., Donald of Easthampton, Kenneth of this city and Maj. Thomas McDermott, U.S. Air Corps, stationed at Westover Air Force Base; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Gloth of Waterford, CT, Mrs. Rose Belasco of Philadelphia, PA, and Mrs. Margaret Miller of Alabama; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will take home [sic] Tuesday at 9:15, with a requiem high mass in the Sacred Heart Church at 10. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
