Youngsters Cut Down Timber to Make Way For New Edifice
Boys with axes and cross-cut saws today were busy cutting down — and cutting up — trees on the spacious lot for the Holy Cross Church to make room for the new church building to be erected there soon The boys were somewhat elated tat being allowed to do the firs preliminary work preparatory to the new edifice. Rev Dr. John C. Ivers states that plans are now being drawn by an architect and that the problem confronting him at present is to the location. That has not been fully decided but he is inclined at present to favor the cutting through of a driveway south of the present church and erecting the new building to dace the present church. The present church will be remodeled in any even and used for a parochial school. Building costs are high, but it is understood that the new structure will be a handsome one and cost upwards of $250,000.
