City May Buy This Property Soon

Octo’s Retail Furniture Mart, Hampden and Walnut Streets.

Pictured is Octo’s Furniture Co., building located at Hampden and Walnut Streets, Holyoke, which may soon become the property of the Municipal Gas & Electric Department. When the Board of Aldermen votes the requested zoning change at its special meeting expected to be held in mid-August, the department will purchase the property from the Mechanics Savings Bank for a price of $30,000. The property will be used for an expansion of the Walnut Street service station of the department.
