W. H. Auden Visits Mount Holyoke College

W. H. Auden, distinguished poet and critic who arrived at Mount Holyoke College yesterday afternoon, talks with Associate Prof. of English Marianne Brock, and two students from her poetry class, the Misses Jonelle Stickel ’51, of Holyoke (right) and Rosamond Rauch (left) ’50, of New York City before his lecture, Mr. Auden is spending the week of Jan. 5-11 at Mount Holyoke as a Florence Purington visiting professor. He will read some of his own poetry, talk with students, and will give a second public lecture Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 8 p.m. in Chapin Auditorium.
