Holyoke, Nov. 11 — Arthur E. Snow died this afternoon at his home 85 Carlton St., after a brief illness. Born in Chicopee, Sept 3, 1873, son of the late Eliab and Lydia Snow and for some 29 years resided here coming to this city from Chicopee where he lived for many years.
For 18 years he had been employed by the Hercules Power Co., retiring from active work in 1947. He had been employed by the J. Russell & Co. of this city.
Mr. and Mrs. Snow celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary March 18 of this year.
Mr. Snow, a member of the First Baptist Church, served on the board of deacons of the church.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary E. (Nutting) Snow, a son Kenneth E. Snow and a daughter Mrs. Charles E. Snow, both of this city; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at the Alger Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 2 with services to be conducted by Rev. Roland R. Young. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home, Friday 2 to 5 and 7 to 10.
World War II Red Cross Official Dead

Holyoke, May 8 — Mrs. Mary E. (Nutting) Snow, 97, of 85 Carlton St., World War II supervisor of Red Cross canteens in this area died Tuesday in Holyoke Hospital.
She was a past president of First Baptist Church Women’s Guild; and a former teacher in its Sunday school and Senior life deaconess of the church.
Born in Groton, she lived in Holyoke and Willimansett most of her life and was the widow of Arthur E. Snow.
She leaves a son, Kenneth E., and a daughter, Maybelle E., both at home; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday in First Baptist Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Alger funeral home is in charge.
