Police Detailed to Unravel Traffic Tangle Outside Funeral Parlors
Thousands of the curious yesterday morning thronged about the Symasko Funeral parlors as the coffin bearing the body of Paul Walence, who was shot to death in his bed early Monday morning at his home, 17 Linden Street, was placed in the hearse.
City Marshal John J. O’Connor was forced to detail three traffic officers to the scene to straighten out the congestion in the traffic.
Mrs. Mary Walence, his widow, is charged with the crime but has denied the crime and is being held without bail for the trial on Monday.
The funeral service was held this morning at the Symasko Funeral Parlors and the honorary bearers were members of the Holyoke Lodge of Elks and included Max Bacgarz, Edmund Leja, Joseph Duggan of Sarsfield, J. Walahan, Frank Creany and Joseph Leary. The active bearers were Stanley Nedziela, Martin Sierzega, William Mengel, John Werenskia, John Wasliczyk and Paul Karnicki. Burial was in Forestdale Cemetery.
